Dance Education at BOCA TUYA

Dance is a universal language, one that heals, empowers, and connects. At Boca Tuya, we believe dance belongs to everyone. Our educational work is rooted in the belief that every body has value, and every student, whether an aspiring professional, a future educator, or someone seeking joy and healing through movement, deserves access to meaningful, high-quality dance experiences.

Through dynamic classes, cross-cultural exchange, university collaborations, and inclusive programming, we aim to nurture thoughtful, compassionate artists and individuals. Our teaching practice is guided by a commitment to discipline, equity, well-being, and collective growth. We are not only shaping dancers, we are building community, one class at a time.

Global Footprints

Boca Tuya’s teaching and choreographic work extends across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Through partnerships with organizations like JUNTOS Collective and Fundación Espacio Creativo, we engage in cultural exchange that celebrates shared values and mutual growth, teaching, mentoring, and learning side-by-side with artists and communities worldwide.

University Commissions

We love supporting emerging talent through creation. We collaborate with university dance programs to create new choreographic works that reflect the identities, experiences, and creative voices of the students involved. These commissions are laboratories of curiosity and care, spaces where students and professionals co-create, take risks, and grow as artists and collaborators.

Open Master Classes

Our master classes invite dancers to challenge their physical instincts and mental patterns through layered improvisational tasks. Each session is designed to heighten body awareness, shake off limiting thought, and unlock the infinite creative possibilities within every individual. These classes are not just technique, they’re an invitation to rediscover your body as a site of intuition, imagination, and play.

Inclusive Dance Experiences

Everyone deserves to move. With the expertise of Red Rhino and our certified teaching artists, Boca Tuya’s Inclusive Dance Program offers movement education and dance therapy at no cost to participants. Designed with a focus on the special needs community, people with physical disabilities, and marginalized groups, this program embraces the healing, expressive power of dance as a vehicle for connection and joy.

We’ve seen firsthand how movement can transform a room, a person, a day. That’s why we’re committed to offering these experiences wherever they are needed most, moving the world forward, and dancing the whole way.

Just before going onstage, their coaches—Omar Román de Jesús, Carlos Sánchez Falú, and Rafael Canals, from the U.S.-based company Boca Tuya—tapped their hands, encouraging them almost like a ritual of passing on energy and talent, to face the eager audience waiting for them right on time. And it was no small task; this year, the twelve young people selected to be part of the PRISMA LAB JUVENIL had the always challenging job of opening the curtain on our contemporary dance festival.
